Nisantasi University was joined into the higher education system by Nisantasi Education Foundation as “Nisantasi Vocational School” with the publication of the founding decree on 09.09.2009 and No. 24480 in the Official Gazette on 17.09.2009 and No. 27352. It is a higher education institution. The institution that started associate degree education on 10.10.2010.

Nisantasi University is a public legal entity through the College of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, College of Engineering and Architecture, College of Art and Design, Institute of Science and Social Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences and Nisantasi Vocational School as transferred to Nisantasi University.

When our university began offering associate degree education as Nişantaşı Vocational School (MYO) in the 2010-2011 school year, there were 14 students in the vocational school, 19 in the 2011-2012 school year, 28 in the 2012-2013 school year, and 58 in The 2013-2014 school year, 78 in the 2014-2015 school year, 82 in the 2015-2016 school year, 97 in the 2016-2017 school year, and 97 in the 2017-2018 academic year. In the 2018-2019 academic year, 84 programs continue to be offered.

Our university has started offering undergraduate education along with associate degree since the 2013-2014 academic year and in the relevant period. A total of 23 undergraduate programs are offered including 13 departments in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 5 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and 5 in the Faculty of Art and Design. The medium of instruction in all departments was Turkish in the relevant academic year.

In the 2014-2015 academic year, university education was provided with a total of 30 departments, 19 in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 5 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and 6 in the Faculty of Art and Design. In the relevant academic year, education began in our Department of Psychology in which English is the medium of instruction, together with the Department of Psychology whose medium of instruction is Turkish.

In the 2015-2016 academic year, university education was provided with a total of 30 departments, 19 in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative and Social Sciences, 5 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and 6 in the Faculty of Art and Design. In the relevant academic year, the same departments in which the language of instruction was Turkish were maintained, and the total number of departments using English as a medium of instruction increased to 4 (Psychology, New Media, International Relations, Architecture).

In the 2016-2017 academic year, university education was provided with a total of 44 departments, 25 in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 10 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and 9 in the Faculty of Art and Design. In the relevant academic year, the same departments whose medium of instruction was Turkish were maintained, and the total number of departments using English as a medium of instruction (Psychology, New Media, International Relations, Architecture, Aviation Management, Social Service, Interior Architecture Civil Engineering) increased to 8.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, university education was provided with a total of 44 departments, 25 in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 10 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and 9 in the Faculty of Art and Design. In the relevant academic year, the total number of departments using English as a medium of instruction was 8.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, university education was provided with a total of 44 departments, 25 in the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 10 in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and 9 in the Faculty of Art and Design. In the relevant academic year, the total number of departments using English as a medium of instruction was 8.

Since the 2016-2017 academic year, besides our faculties, the School of Civil Aviation has 3 departments, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports 3, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences has 3 departments in our university. In the 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years, related programs continued to provide undergraduate education with their existing departments.

In the academic year 2020-2021, 2 new associate degree programs opened in the College of Engineering and Architecture, 3 in the College of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, 2 in the College of Health Sciences, 1 in the College of Physical Education and Sports and 3 new undergraduate degree programs within the Vocational School .

In our university, apart from departments whose medium of instruction is English, as detailed above, the curricula of departments whose language of instruction is Turkish is also carried out mainly through English lessons (speaking, writing and professional English). The main purpose of this regulation is to prevent our students from making extra efforts to increase international competition and language learning.

After obtaining approval for higher education in our university in 2013, higher education started in Psychology and Business Administration (non-thesis) and textile and fashion design (non-thesis), in 2014 for International Financial Reporting and Auditing (without thesis), Business Administration (with Thesis), Health Management (with thesis) in 2015, for Health Management (without thesis), and in 2016, for Political Science and International Relations (with thesis), Political Science and International Relations (without thesis), Human Resource Management (without thesis), Human Resource Management (With Thesis). Approval was obtained for PhD education at our university in 2015 for the Business Administration programme. Our associate degree students, who meet graduation requirements, receive an associate’s degree, our undergraduate students receive a bachelor’s degree, our graduate students receive a master’s degree, and our doctoral students receive a doctorate. In the academic year 2018-2019, all associate, undergraduate and postgraduate programs at our university are conducted in the form of formal education.

On the other hand, for our students to gain a competitive advantage in business life and better train them in different fields; Double major and minor programs are implemented in accordance with the “Regulation on the Principles for Transferring Between Associate and University Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double and Minor Majors and Transfer of Credit between Institutions” published in the Official Gazette on 4/24/2010 and No. 27561.

With the dual major program application, students studying in undergraduate programs can obtain a diploma in a second branch by simultaneously taking the courses of another undergraduate program. Additionally, students enrolled in an undergraduate program can obtain a degree with a subprogram by taking some courses from another undergraduate program’s syllabus at the same time.
